A workshop on what our rural students can pursue after their SSLC was conducted by a team of volunteers from INTEL, Bangalore on Wednesday 26th Feb, 2014 for our high school children.
It is well known that not every student will have the aptitude and skills needed to become an engineer or a doctor (though every rural parent aspires to see their son being there!). Several rural students are not aware of the requirements even to pursue these aspirations? Several senior managers of Intel and trainers coordinated by Mrs. Seema Iyer participated in the event.
Students got to know useful information on several career avenues and options. Courses such as “soil/water testing” , “Diploma in Agriculture” , “Basic draftsmanship”, “Dress Making” ..are useful courses for rural students (especially for girls), but how many of us know that these can be pursued just after 10th? A chart prepared from a professional organization in the field was gifted to the school for future reinforcement and reference. THANK YOU INTEL.
